Most of the images on this web site are were taken with medium format or large format film cameras, to ensure the highest image quality.
I prefer to print images in larger sizes, typically 16 by 20 inches and larger. The larger negatives from these cameras allow virtually grainless prints, with subtle tonal gradations and significant image detail. Prints from large format negatives often have a near-three dimensional quality to them. For further information on how the images are produced, see my Technical pages.
The images are either printed on special photographic pigment-based printers or with a laser-based color print system. Both processes produce images that are archival. This means that under normal lighting conditions, the prints should not noticeably fade or shift color for many decades. Traditional color prints are notoriously impermanent.
